Red Sea Gazette 12; Bongo for a Gongo

The Dervish appear as the Teesiders advance...

The Teesiders use battalion square

Major Pea gets the Mounted Infantry into the rifle pits.  He then forms up his enormous column

The Fortress bristles with the Rasuli`s Dervish

Pea faces the uncompromising dice of fate.  Once again they are catastrophic...

Ali Bongo stands his ground.

That grassy knoll once again swarms with the enemy

The Dervish dice of fate are strong on the centre table, but weak when it comes to recycling...

Cometh the hour, cometh the Queen's Own Minifigs.

That damn grassy knoll still crawls with Dervish

The Camel Corps use the flank to advance

A  prayer to Vectron is rewarded as the Teesiders kill enemy after enemy...

Most of the Dervish appear on the Fortress table.  Was anyone watching those dice rolls?

Shielded by the Queen's Own the Langbaughs begin their Zariba

The Fortress remains undaunted, if a little scratched by the Mountain gun of the Camel Corps.  Major Whitemoore withdraws, cursing the Rasuli and swearing revenge...

Red Sea Gazette 11. Stroker takes it in hand.

Deployment differences are noted.  The Rajputs deploy in a tight Battalion square.
The Teesdales deploy in a series of spaced out columns - too spaced out?

The Composite battalion deploy in two lines.

The Hadendowah team.  Major Pea displays his inner Beja.

The Queen's Own, about to be massacred.

The Naval Brigade.  Some sailor on camel action.

The Midsomers, using an advance in a series of lines.

Impetuous camelry.  After eating the sailors they charge the Teesdales.

Captain Peacock stands his ground.
three times  he sees off tribal infantry hand to hand.
Meanwhile Lieutenant Farthingdale
is cut down by the Bejas.

Seaman Stains and Master Bates are the last sailors standing.
Both were to perish, sacrificed by Major Whynott.

The enemy swarm around the Midsommers,
as the Islanders support them.

The Correspondent watches as Lt Farthingdale falls.

Seaman Staines and Master Bates wish they were back aboard

Captain Barking-Madly and his gun knock that damn village down.

The Teesdales remain static

Leaving the ruins of Handjub to the Dervish
the Rajputs follow North West Frontier policy,
and withdraw objective achieved.
"The most successful thing we`ve done all game.."

The Midsomers and the Fellaheen of Ali Bongo
hold onto the well.  Objective achieved.

"Ali Bongo" by Mr Kipling

Ali Bongo,
from the Congo,
he's no drongo,
drinks Umbongo...

Bongo Bongo, Ali Bongo,
he's been known to do a tango,
Sometimes even wears a poncho
and for his breakfast he eats mango.

Bongo Bongo Ali Bongo,
he's a Hero, just like Tonto,
wants to live in far Toronto
Handsome as his pal Great Gonzo

Bongo, Bongo, Ali Bongo
finishing this poem real pronto...

Red Sea Gazette 10, Cocky Armstrong Commemorative Edition

The Camel Corps line up the General's Drinks
cabinet for the trek across the table

Dundarse and Pea worry over their deployments,
Extra points for those Piths.

The Durhams and Teesiders begin well.

The Camel Corps advance with their customary flair.

More and more Dervish appear on the right flank

Pea uses columns to advance.  he has learned from the Rajputs it seems!

Dervish Camelry Cavalry and shooters dominate the table.

The Dervish riflemen turn out to be quite keen

Hanjub village swarms with the enemy

The luck of these Dervish dice rolls is difficult to explain.

Few Dervish appear opposite the Camel Corps as the dice favour the right flank

The Camel Corps keep the enemy at a distance

The hoped for camel on camel action is not as interesting as it sounds

The drinks cabinet edges closer to success

The Dervish swarm the Teesiders in a most unfair fashion

Horse on camel action.
This is a good looking game.

The last stand of Captain Profumo of the Warwickshires.

The end game on the right as the Dervish numbers increase even further...

The Teesiders are surrounded by the unduly gleeful Dervish.
Cocky Armstrong falls...

The last Dervish unit on the left flees the battle.

The Durhams evacuate on the table.
It's all over for First Brigade.
That damn village still needs to be destroyed.
