Port Republic, 15mm

 The Battle of Port Republic was fought on June 9, 1862, in Rockingham County, Virginia, as part of Confederate Army Maj. Gen. Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson's campaign through the Shenandoah Valley during the American Civil War. Port Republic was a fierce contest between two equally determined foes and was the most costly battle fought by Jackson's Army of the Valley during its campaign.

And the Rebs go prone as their guns hammer away at the enemy.

And that is some effective fire!

A Yankee Regiment reels back, whipped.

And again the Confederate batteries fire a deadly volley.  Captain Poague proves his worth ad a battery commander.

Across the Valley the Yanks push back my Skirmishers.

And still Poague gives the Yanks problems.

Almost single handedly the Rebel guns thump away at the Yanks.

Jacksons reinforcements arrive.

And I send the Rebels forward

Wheat's Tigers close in on the Yankee left  up the road.

And true to form Wheat foes in with the bayonet.  The Union response is poor.

The Zouaves are victorious

And the Union are whipped

And the lines close

Brigadier Winder leads the elite Stonewalls forward

And yet more Rebel reinforcements arrive

And it comes down to volleys

But the Stonewalls are Elite, and my dice are running high.

In with the bayonet

And it's all over as I steamroller two regiments back.  Nice thumb on the lense too.

The sleepy border town of Los Hades, Texas has been invaded by the El Fatti gang, sombrero wearing fellows of Mexican extraction.  The Texas Rangers have sent a company of six men, five heroes and Vaughan, to clear the town and claim the rewards.

Town seems quiet, but the Rangers are approaching.

Fatti shoots at Rooster but the Marshal fires first, and misses.  Fatti shoots Rooster in the leg.

Indio hides behind the woodpile, having finally secured his pants.  He shoots at Rooster.  Medium range 50% be ones 25.  He shoots he hits. Leg again.  Rooster is down to his red chips

Sancho shoots from the balcony at Rooster, hits him in the left foot, unhooking him.  The Marshal is down to one chip.

Spearman fires, and misses, his horse is spooked.

McQueen runs on, vaults the fence and fans his gun at Fatti, hitting him twice, stunning and leg wound.

The lard soaks up those bullets

McQueen hits Fattii with three more putting him down.

Postelthwaite hides in the Rocks, wounds Indio

Jesus shoots at the prone, mortally wounded Marshall.  Three rounds.  But Rooster shoots first, hitting Jesus, in the chest.  He is knocked down.

Bronson snipes at Sancho, three, hit in the spine.

Sancho crawls to the veranda and peeps over

Indio takes on Postelthwaite.  Indio hits first.  Another leg graze.  Postlethwaite hits Indio, another graze.

Hades, Texas, heating up

Vaughan presses himself fkat against the side of a building, hiding.

Taco shoots at McQueen.  Hits with number 3.  Flesh wound.

Slap wakes up and wanders off

Jesus shoots Vaughan in the arse

Bronson kills Sancho $100

Taco fires at McQueen again, but McQueen is quicker and wounds him.

Boss Spearmint aims and fires three at Indio. Two hits.  Head shot.  Indio is killed

Rafeal drops his gun and runs away 

Spearmint closes in for a kill steal on Fattii.  Taco keeps McQueen busy, until finally the Mexican crawls away
McQueen and Spearmint both try to finish Fatti.

Spearmint closes in and stands over Fatti, pumping three shots into him. $300

 Sextus Figulous, a new Centurion, recently arrived on the frontier, learns of his brother's death at the hands of Vorsprung and his Germans.  Our fresh faced boy (no shader used on that figure yet) has vowed to sieze the sacred vibrating Wang of the tribes, and defeat Vorsprung.

It's a lofty ambition for a new boy.  His men rate him as "Pugnacious," the ladies rate him as pug ugly.  Can our hero save the watchtower in village six?  If anyone can do it a Sextus can!

The field of battle, watchtower at village 6.

Sextus brings his legionary tanks on.  Blocked by terrain.

The German slingers grab one of our ambush points.

Meanwhile at the tower all is quiet.

Sextus marches into the bog. Steps out but its slow going.

Furious brings a skirmish order group on.  Useful types these Auxilia.

The German Warlord appears off an ambush point.  He looks angry

But out pops our Curious Decurion, who had been trying to catch their ambush point.  The Germans appear and spear chuck, killing one of Curious' men!

And the Wang is sighted as Warriors with a cartload of faggots appear and surge for the wall.  The Germans screen this with archers.  

And we break the action at that point.

Germany isn't a safe place for Romans!
