The Red Sea Gazette vol 5

The village of Trinikat

The Teesiders adopt their diamond "hunting for a monkey" formation.

The Dervish swarm against "Cocky" Armstrong's Donga

"Cocky" and his boys see off the Dervish as they attack in waves.

Dervish riflemen lurk in the hard cover of the village

The Tyne and Teesdale battalion pour rifle fire into the village.

More and more Dervish Suck on the Monkey's nipple,
as they mount up those suggestive pin markers

Major Dundarse rallies his fleeing centre.
Is that a cup of tea he's drinking?
Or perhaps a nip of Balamory grouse.

Almost but not quite.  The Dervish attack fails on the left.

Major Whynott still lurking around on his own baseline,
keeping the correspondent under cheque...
(spelled cheque to imply that payments were made...)

The dervish swarm around the village.

Finally Whynott moves off the baseline.

The Teesdales slowly inch forward.

The remaining figures of the forward Company fit on half a base!
And ... isn't that a Havildar in command?
